What: Koni FSD Front Struts & Rear Shocks
Why: This was a tough decision. The FSDs are super expensive. At around $600 for a set, that's almost 30% more than the Bilstein HDs or other comparable sets. Ultimately, I figure that I spend enough time in the car that I want the suspension to be as comfortable as possible without sacrificing performance. I could probably have gotten by with the Bilsteins, but I wasn't absolutely sure.
I have Monroe Sensetracs on another one of my TDIs and they ride very well. At $160 for a set, it's one of the best sets you can buy for the price - what sets the Monroe's apart is the fact that they have a lifetime warranty. With a TDI, there's no way you can lose on that.
What I would do differently: I'm not sure if I would go with them again or not. I do like them - I have absolutely no complaints... but I'm not sure they are worth the $600 cost. After two or three years, if they maintain their performance, then yes I believe they would be worth the cost.
