What: Autotech 312mm Front Brake Conversion Why: The stock TDI brakes are tiny and look horrible in 17" and larger wheels. I wanted something bigger to fill out the wheel. Oh, and lets not forget a little thing called performance. To do this to a TDI, this requires the bearing housings, bearings and calipers to be switched out for the 1.8T/VR6 variety. It's not a trivial upgrade for the TDIs unfortunately. What I would do differently: Nothing - I originally tried the ECS Big Brake kit for 332mm brakes and they were just too big. They fit in my wheels, but it just looked awkward. The 312mm rotors look a lot better in17" wheels. Where: |
