What: VDO Boost & EGT Guages

Why: I bought a complete kit from New South Performance. The VDO gauges came with the Diesel Pod kit. I needed both guages, so it just made sense at the time.

What I would do differently: Never, never, never, never, never buy a VDO boost guage. I would rather blow a turbo than run a VDO boost guage in my car ever again. The guage works, sure... but the buzzing will have you wanting to kill someone within the hour.

Sometimes they ship a restrictor with the guage that is suppose to "eliminate" the buzzing. It doesn't. It never will... the only way you can eliminate the buzzing is to disconnect the guage. Actually, you might be able to eliminate the buzzing by retarding the input so much that the guage is no longer accurate... but then what is the point. Bottom line is, I would never, ever buy another VDO guage.

I am looking at buying the Westach dual Boost/EGT guage and possibly going with a single column pod instead of the frogeye dual column pod. Either that, or get the Westach guage and put something else in the other pod slot.
